You are at the ADEs/MEMORIALS, page#2

Each one of the ADEs turned in to me for the ADE Survey has its own unique horror story of needless suffering and grief behind the "statistics" -  this page is dedicated to all of those beloved pets who died and/or were damaged with the FDA/CVM's approval and endorsement of corporate greed,  aided and abetted by the silent veterinarians.

A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.  - Joseph Stalin  (1879 - 1953)
The dead cannot cry out for justice ; it is the duty of the living to do so for them.  - Lois McMaster Bujold

The music provided for this page is the theme song of "Tara" from "Gone with the Wind".

SURVEY:  For those folks who have either lost a beloved pet or had their pet's health damaged/compromised after a visit to their veterinarian, you are invited to participate in an ongoing informational survey which will be posted on the site: http://rimadyldeath.com.  The purpose of this survey is to provide information on the Internet for all to see regarding the ongoing death/damage toll after veterinarian visits, as well as to provide readers with true experience stories regarding what veterinarians are telling pet owners for the page titled: "VET TAILS", in order to get some insights via "patterns" into general veterinarian care. To participate in this survey, just copy/paste the complete blank survey form provided here, fill in your own responses and e-mail it directly to: GingerLSanchez@aol.com:

8: Where you learned about the potential/possible risks/side effects of the drug [i.e., www.srdogs.com, etc.]:  Long story, the same vet prescribed Rimadyl for my CAT.  The CIS was in the packaging and I questioned him on why it said not to give to cats.  His reply was his girls should have removed that document and it was only a matter of time that it will be ok for cats.  I read the adverse reactions and stopped giving them to Oasis but it was too late, the cancer had spread to all her lymph nodes and chemo would have only delayed the outcome.  Romeo ended up only getting three pills (my trust was still storng in my vet) I returned the prescription and hoped I did not do any damage.  However, he was put to sleep to cancer in June of 2003. If not for the CIS, I would not have known of the Adverse Reactions to this drug and  both my babies could have been gone that year.

5.  Noted when returned home after recieving her 1st injection of proheart she had severe facial swelling her eyes had swelled shut difficulty breathing and hives all over her body.

6. Kansas

7.  I was informed of nothing they were the ones to suggest the injection to me and stated she had to have one more heart worm test then if she recieved the shot every six months then would never need to have heart worm test again.  My vets spoke highly of the shot.

8.  From the recall in the news paper

9.  I would have never allowed the vet to inject Ryleigh with that drug.  NO!!

10.  For her heart worm test.  1.  Ryleigh is doing very well now, after the initial reaction the the shot she did become very ill and no vet could tell me what was wrong with her almost had to send her to K-State, she developed pancreatitis and demadectic mange which are more than likely from the steroids she recieved in the emergency treatment of her reaction and lowered her immune system, the pancreatitis made her so sick she couldn't keep down any dog food for almost four months the only thing she could usually keep down was rice baby cereal and some of the baby food meats.  She had shots of tagment, was on reglan ect. which did not stop her vomiting.  Now she is good she went from 17pds to a chunky 24pds does not vomit any more and has no sign of demadectic, also with the demadectic she was on ivermectin and it could not be given the her by injection because she had a reaction to that, so she took it orally with a bendry and did well, and now with her heartworm pills she has to take them with a bendryl.

5------  diarrhea, vomiting, severe lethargy, finally massive blood loss from rectum.

6-----   Florida

7-----    No--but I do not blame the vet for this--he would trust an approved drug as I would, I would suppose--you tend to take that for granted.

8-----    Initially, when he got sick we consulted a surgeon, our vet, Gainseville school of Vet med, and a nutritionalist----the latter brought it up--no way     to pursue it at the time--------info was vague.

9-------   Absolutely Not-nothing more than the worst of poisons.

10-------  Kato was family---he still has a medical file at home. A thick one. With many many results from blood work. He was due for his shots.  Yes--Kato went for a regular check-up, and at that time we realized he had not had a heartworm preventitive.

7.      Vet. Informed us we needed to watch this drug because of "serious side effects", but did not inform us what those were. She merely said after one month of treatment that blood work needed to be done. After calls that something was seriously wrong with our dog the vet discounted side effects to bowel problems.

8.      Learned of side effects from internet website, don't remember which. Rushed dog to a different vet who was knowledgeable about Rimadyl but at she was suffering from 105 degree fever, hepatitis, and internal bleeding. IV treatments were not successful and she died.

9.      There is absolutely no way I would have given Rimadyl to my dog had I know of the side effects or stories of others.

10.     The original vet call was because of incontinence problems.
